Source: Job Hopping in My 20s Was the Best Decision I Ever Made

For some, maybe many now, it works out. Gone are the days when, like my father, a person can stay in the same job in the same community for 38 years. I’ve had 10 jobs at 71 years of age, and only two I really enjoyed. I left them all, was never fired, but two I wish in retrospect I had been able to hang on to. One was because a colleague was accidentally killed and the organization was to blame for poor aircraft maintenance, and the other was because the college I was a young professor at, had major budget problems and had to let 22 faculty go.

Now I write for a living, and do some on-line editing. Never been happier with today’s choices.
